Residential Pickup Schedule

TUESDAY garbage pick-up includes all residents living on the South side of Hoppe Avenue, which includes Phases 1, 2, and 5

THURSDAY garbage pick-up includes all residents living on the North side of Hoppe Avenue, which includes Shand Trailer Court, Phases 3, 4, 6 and the residents of 101 Avenue.

Bylaw No 29 requires that all households:
  1. Provide a sufficient number of garbage containers for the purpose of storing and putting out for collection of garbage. Garbage containers shall be constructed of galvanized metal or plastic, having a tight fitting lid and have suitable handles for ease of handling. The types of standard containers sold in commercial outlets are considered suitable.
  2. Garbage Containers may be placed on the front street on garbage collection day only. Placing of household garbage at the curb in plastic bags is not allowed and proper containers must be used. Plastic garbage bags may be used: for disposal of lawn clippings, non-food containers such as empty paint tins, bleach bottles, etc.

Persons who violate the provisions of By Law # 29 shall be liable for prosecution under the General Penalties By Law, which provides for penalties up to $ 1, 000.00.

Any Cleanup of garbage scattered about by birds or animals will be the responsibility of the resident of the home where improper garbage containers are considered to be cause. In addition, the Town Administration will be notified and prosecution of offenders will be vigorously pursed.
