Open Public Forum:
Four residents attended the Council Meeting to point out their concerns regarding the sewage issues in Phase 5 and on 105th Ave. They wanted to know what the Town was doing to remedy the situation and requested regular updates from the Town on their progress. One resident volunteered his time and expertise to use equipment from the Institution to camera the pipes to help see what the problem is. Council explained that they are working on determining the issues in both areas of the community, and accepted the offer for help. Council also agreed to provide regular updates to the residents in the areas on their progress.
Alberta Culture Days
The Town of Grande Cache declared September 28 -30, 2012 as Alberta Cultural Days in Grande Cache.
Proclamation for Muscular Dystrophy Month
The Town of Grande Cache declared September 2012 as MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY MONTH
Recreation Centre
Council approved the purchase of a new pump to be replaced in the multistack unit in the aquatics centre to be completed during the pool shut-down in September.
Water Treatment Plant Upgrades
A grant application was submitted to the FCM Green Fund to help pay for upgrades at the Water Treatment Plant.
Breathing Air Refill Station and Hazardous Air Environment Monitors for Fire Department
Council approved to purchase two new gas monitors with all necessary testing equipment and a new breathing apparatus fill cabinet, with cascade bottles for storage of breathing air for the Grande Cache Fire Department.
Appointment of New CAO
Town Council appointed Mr. Alan Parkin as the new CAO for the Town of Grande Cache as of September 24, 2012.
Regular Council Meetings Rescheduled
Please note that the regular council meeting scheduled for September 12 has been cancelled, and the regular council meeting scheduled for September 26 has been RE-SCHEDULED for September 19 at 5:00 p.m.
